Medical oxygen generators are oxygen concentrators that have relevant national medical device licenses and can be used for medical treatment; while household oxygen generators are only for ordinary health care and cannot be used for patient medical treatment. The main differences are as follows:
1. Oxygen concentration: Medical oxygen generator - oxygen concentration is stably maintained at ≥ 93% under any oxygen output flow; while household oxygen generator - extremely unstable, the oxygen concentration is only 30% - 90% under different oxygen output flow;
2. Equipment classification: Medical oxygen concentrators - medical devices are tested, approved and issued by the State Food and Drug Administration, and medical device licenses are issued; and household oxygen concentrators is non-medical devices (no medical device licenses);
The above two points are the main differences.
The key is to determine whether it is for medical use or health care. If it is for medical use, it is basically meaningless to choose a home oxygen concentrator. Only by choosing a medical oxygen concentrator can real medical effects be achieved. Like the JoRadiant medical oxygen concentrator, it is basically used at home. It has the same effect as when you go to the hospital to inhale oxygen.
General household oxygen generators can only be used for daily health care and oxygen therapy due to the low oxygen concentration;
The medical oxygen concentrator can be used not only for daily health care, but also for the elderly and patients at home. Therefore, it is recommended to purchase a medical oxygen concentrator directly for use in the general family.
In simple terms, an oxygen concentrator with an oxygen concentration of more than 93% can be called a medical oxygen concentrator, but the oxygen concentration of 93% here refers to the maximum flow rate of the oxygen concentrator, such as a 3L oxygen concentrator at a 3L flow rate. When the oxygen concentration of the 5L oxygen generator at the flow rate of 5L must reach 93%, it can be called a medical oxygen generator.
The oxygen concentration of some oxygen generators can also reach 90%. For example, Amazon hot-selling health-care oxygen generators are marked with an oxygen concentration of 30%-90% and a maximum flow rate of 6 liters. The concentration can only reach 90% at 1 liter/min. As the flow rate increases, the oxygen concentration also decreases. When the flow rate is 6 liters/min, the oxygen concentration is only 30%, which is far from the standard of medical oxygen.
